For many Indian American children, Hanuman is the first superhero they imitate, wielding a broom or cricket bat like his mighty mace and leaping from sofas in dreams of flying across the ocean.
Yet Hanuman is far more than a symbol of strength. He is the innocent child who reached for the sun, mistaking it for a ripe fruit; the fearless messenger entrusted by Rama to find Sita in captivity; and the unwavering guardian whose presence kept the Pandava banner flying through the epic battle of Kurukshetra.
Hanuman embodies courage, humility, loyalty, and selfless service—qualities that make his story as relevant today as it was thousands of years ago.
Anupama Mirle, the founder of Nrityarpana, has worked with many artists across different genres and is collaborating with Dr. Sanjay Shantaram to bring this production to Cincinnati as part of NSPA's first dance and drama festival.
This is an opportunity for senior students to work with Dr. Shantaram and for junior dancers to work with him and share the stage. This is a registration form. The requirements are stringent, and we request that only those who can meet them submit the form.
This form will walk you through the expectations of being part of the workshop and the final performance. Details will be updated for all registered participants and those involved in the production.
